AI, Privacy & Safeguarding
Make safer classroom decisions about student data, age, sensitive information, harmful outputs and the boundaries of AI-supported support.
- Use the least data you need — Reduce privacy risk by limiting what enters the system in the first place.
- Age, accounts and consent matter — Treat access conditions as part of learning design, not an administrative afterthought.
- Keep sensitive cases out of casual AI workflows — Recognise when safeguarding, health, wellbeing or disciplinary information requires a different process.
- Plan for harmful or inappropriate outputs — Assume that filters reduce risk rather than eliminate it.
- Do not automate the relationship away — Keep human support available when students are distressed, vulnerable or seeking consequential advice.
