Leading Purposeful EdTech Change
Lead technology change as an instructional and organisational design problem: clarify the purpose, build ownership, create workable conditions and learn before scaling.
- Start with a learning problem and a theory of change — Purposeful change begins with a specific improvement in learning or teaching, not a product announcement.
- Build shared ownership, not compliance — People implement change when they understand it, can shape it and see how it fits their professional judgement.
- Design the implementation conditions and routines — Good intentions need time, capability, infrastructure, support and a routine that can survive real work.
- Pilot, learn and adapt — Early use should produce learning about the change, not just evidence that the launch happened.
- Scale what earns its place — Scaling is a stewardship decision: preserve the useful core while adapting responsibly to context.
