Sources should strengthen judgement, not decorate a course.
MIELA uses sources to ground important claims, provide access to original frameworks and help educators continue beyond the course.
Source priorities
- Original framework authors and official framework documentation.
- International organisations, government or recognised professional bodies for guidance and policy.
- Peer-reviewed or established research syntheses when a claim depends on evidence.
- High-quality practitioner material when the purpose is implementation rather than evidence of effectiveness.
How sources are represented
A source does not make every nearby statement true. MIELA aims to keep the relationship between claim and evidence clear, avoid citation theatre, and distinguish a source's position from MIELA's professional interpretation.
Corrections and currency
Technology and AI guidance changes quickly. When a source becomes outdated, a link breaks or a claim needs correction, MIELA should be updated rather than preserving an old statement for consistency.
